Health Tips for Women On-The-Go

Health Tips for Women On-The-Go

With kids in school and daycare, dinner needing to be cooked, a more-than-40-hours-per-week job and so much more, women too often let their health become one of the last priorities on their to-do list. If you need simple, tangible steps to become healthier, we are here to help! Whether you are extremely active or have a desire to become a more healthy individual, these five tips can benefit any lifestyle of women on-the-go.

  1. Eat Breakfast – We’re sure you’ve heard this a dozen times before, but eating a nutritional breakfast is the best way to start your day. Many of our busy clients tell us they don’t have time for nutritious meals throughout the day, but eating a large, healthy breakfast before your day even begins is a great way to make sure you are consuming foods that will nourish your body. If mornings are a hectic time for you and your family, we suggest prepping breakfast the night before after the kids are asleep.

  1. Take a Break Give yourself “me time” every single day to do something you enjoy. Whether it’s reading a book, hitting the gym, getting pampered at the spa, or simply relaxing on the couch, spend at least 30 minutes a day doing something that makes you happy. If it means you have to wake up a little earlier or stay up 30 minutes later, do it. Adding something else to your already packed schedule may seem daunting at first, but once you make this a habit, you will start looking forward to your “me time” every day.

  1. Drink More Water – According to a survey conducted by the Cornell Medical Center, 75 percent of Americans are not drinking enough water. Drinking more water is an easy way anyone can upturn their health, and a step simple enough that any woman on-the-go can easily implement.

  1. Pack Snacks – Having fruits and veggies on hand while you are out is a surefire way to satisfy your hunger between meals. If you don’t have healthy snacks within arm’s reach, it is extremely tempting to pull into a fast food drive-through for a quick meal. Keeping healthy bites with you ensures that you are equipped with a smart food choice in the event that you are hungry while you are on-the-go.

  1. Make the Time Count – If you have five minutes left before you need to leave the house, you recognize that you don’t have time for an intense workout, but you definitely have time to do some squats or get some pushups in. Get in the habit of using your idle time to be active instead of just spending those minutes scrolling through Instagram. Making the little moments count can add up to an hour or more of exercise at the end of the day.
